Steel Fittings

Steel  pipe Fittings

Steel Fittings are Pipes, Adapters, Unions, Connectors and Couplings that are made of steel used for construction, industrial and technical works etc. They are used on Hose, Pipes , Pumps and Machines etc.

Steel Fittings are known for their strength, heat resistance and durability. They can withstand the transfer of Chemicals, Oil , Flammable gases, Water, Bitumen, Crude etc.

Types of steel fittings:

1)stainless Steel Fittings:

resist rust, temperature, heat and can last longer. Examples, Weco union fittings, Swagelock fittings, Cam lock fitting , Crimp fittings.

2)galvanized Steel Fittings:

its fragile ,cheaper and can resist moisture. Used for water transfer. Example , Galvanized king nipples and Bushing for plumbing.

3). Carbon Steel:

for gas pipelines . Formed from Carbon and Nickel. Resist corrosion and can be tough. Example ,Weco hammer union,Double bolt clamps , Chicago couplings , Crimpfittings

Camlock fitting type E

Male hose-end camlock

Cam lock fitting type E is a global recognized fitting for a quick connection and disconnection of two end joints or hoses. Its also called cam and groove hose end male plug coupler. Its used in connection with the female Camlock fitting type C.
Camlock fitting type E has no handle, its only made up of a plug end that fits into a female socket of Camlock fitting type C.

Camlock fitting type E is used on both offshore and onshore service. The use of this cam and groove coupler make the connection very easier because it quickens reconnection of two hydraulic hoses or two pressure pipes.Camlock fitting type E is more easier to use than weco union . The reason for this is that weco union connection has to do with running an NPT thread to another from its wing. While Camlock fittings is a quick coupler and it require only plugs and sockets ends.

You may compare the Camlock fitting with a crowfoot or chicago coupling . The both are quick disconnect fittings but the only different is that universal coupler or crowfoot coupler has claws while Camlock fittings has socket and plug ends. They can be used for suction and delivery of hydraulics, fuel and oil , water , air and mud with a certain force and hydraulic pressure But the service depends on the material type of the Camlock fitting type E. Camlock fitting type E are made of stainless steel, brass, Teflon and aluminum .

The stainless material of Camlock fitting type E is virtually used for all services including chemical suction and discharge. The brass type of Camlock fitting type E can also be used almost on every services but not on chemicals. While the aluminum and Teflon materials does almost the same work but a more fragile in nature.
Camlock fittings are also compared to fire fittings. Take for instance, the use of JOHN MORISE fire coupler is almost the same with the use of Camlock fittings. And they perform almost the same jobs.
