Male NPT Universal Crowfoot Coupling is a Chicago coupling with an NPT external threading used to connect two hoses or hose to compressor pump together.Universal Couplings are used together with different connections like weco union. The male NPT is adapted to the female NPT end.

Before using or threading a male Npt crowfoot threading , you must ensure that the female Npt is the same size with the male NPT threading.You must also observe the Rubber seal on the surface of the crowfoot coupling to avoid leakages.

Male Npt Crowfoot couplings are manufactured in with different materials. Which includes:

The stainless steel crowfoot fittings.

The brass crowfoot fittings.
The cast iron crowfoot fittings.

Crowfoot male NPT fittings are threaded to a Compressor machines to be connected to a hose-end crowfoot fitting that is used with an Air or hydraulic hoses depending on the service it provides.

They can also be used during hose crimping operation . The hose must be crimped with a female end NPT threading where the male NPT external threading will be attached. But at a situation whereby the hose is crimped with the use of sleeve directly or making use a double bolt clamps with the hose- end barbed universal coupling, there is no need of using the Male NPT threading since the hose barbed end is already crimped to the hose.

Weco union connection

  Weco union connections are one of the simplest connection one can make use of in any hydraulic pressure pumps,hydraulics pipe fittings, oil and gas trucks, hydraulics trucks etc.It requires no too much effort to use. The only effort you can make is to get a suitable industrial hammer that will match the figure of that particular Weco union connector and hit it to the weco union wing for it to tighten very well.Weco union connections are also used as a cross over connection.

For example: when you are using a 3" hydraulic hose (either Parker hydraulics, vickers hydraulics, Eaton hydraulics etc) to deliver hydraulic product with a Weco union connection that is the same 3" and you decided that 4" hydraulic hoses will discharge faster than 3" hydraulic hose, all you need to do is to change the hydraulic pump or truck that has the 3" Weco union connection to 4" Weco union connection .

Then use a Weco union cross over that is 4" reduced to 3" and connect the 4 " side to the hydraulic pumps while the other 3" Weco union cross over side will be connected to the 3"Weco union connected 3" hydraulic hose.And you must bear in mind that the Weco union cross over must have the same figure with the Weco union connected to the hydraulic hoses.The 3" Weco union figure 100 on the hydraulic hose must match with a 3" weco union Weco union cross while the 4" figure 100 Weco union cross over must match with a 4" Weco union figure 100 on the hydraulic pumps or trucks
